How NSF certification works
Five checks before the mark goes on the box.
NSF Certified for Sport® is run by NSF, an independent, accredited certification organization. Here is what Dr's Grow UP went through, in NSF's own terms.
- Step 1
Facility audited
Made in a GMP-certified facility that NSF audits every year, or twice a year depending on its grade.
- Step 2
Formula and label reviewed
NSF experts review the formulation and the label, and inspect production facilities and suppliers.
- Step 3
Contents tested
The finished product is tested to confirm it matches the label, with no unsafe levels of contaminants.
- Step 4
Lots screened
Production lots are tested for 290 substances banned by major athletic organizations.
- Step 5
Monitored ongoing
Annual audits and ongoing testing keep the certification current.

Not all minerals
are made the same.
Since 1956, Albion® has focused on one thing: minerals the body can use — including its patented TRAACS® amino acid chelates.
Six of ours come from Albion: iron, zinc, selenium and manganese as chelates, plus calcium and magnesium as malates.
“Balanced meals come first in the growing years. Supplements fill the small gaps that still remain.”— Medical Advisor, M.D. · Internal Medicine & Nephrology
Our Medical Advisor is affiliated with BoneScience. This recommendation follows a safety review of the formula; it is not a promise of results.
Why it's built this way.
In 126 adults, calcium taken with a meal cut iron absorption by 50–60% at 300–600 mg.
Hallberg et al., Am J Clin Nutr, 1991 ↗In a placebo-controlled trial in 55 healthy children, 8 weeks of MK-7 improved osteocalcin carboxylation — a marker of vitamin K status in bone.
van Summeren et al., Br J Nutr, 2009 ↗A systematic review on how nutrition — including calcium and vitamin D — and physical activity in childhood and adolescence shape peak bone mass.
Weaver et al., Osteoporos Int, 2016 ↗These studies are on the individual nutrients, not on Dr's Grow UP itself.
Before your child starts.
- Antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones) — take 2–4 hours apart
- Thyroid medicine (levothyroxine) — take 4 hours apart
- Blood thinners (warfarin) — contains vitamin K
- Seizure medicine, ADHD medicine or SSRIs
- Don't take Dr's Grow UP and Prime Height together — combined, folate and niacin go above the upper limits for ages 9–13.
- Don't combine with another multivitamin — folate, zinc and niacin would double up.
- Has a thyroid condition? Check with your doctor about iodine (42 mcg).
- Not for children with thalassemia or hemochromatosis (iron).
Parents ask us.
What age is Dr's Grow UP for?
Ages 10 and up.
When should we start?
Any time in the growing years. The earlier the daily habit starts, the more years it covers.
Does it guarantee height?
No. Dr's Grow UP is nutritional support for the growing years, not a treatment. Growth depends on genetics, sleep, activity and overall diet.
Why two formulas?
Some nutrients compete for absorption. Iron and zinc go in the morning, calcium and magnesium at night.
My child can't swallow capsules.
The AM capsules can be opened and mixed into a drink. The PM tablets are made small and easy to swallow.
Is it safe for student athletes?
Dr's Grow UP is NSF Certified for Sport® — every production lot is tested for 290+ substances banned in sport. Search "Grow Up" at nsfsport.com to see it yourself.
How long should we take it?
It's a daily routine for the growing years. Nutrition works over months, not days — the 3-month pack is the one families choose most.
When will we notice a difference?
Nutrition works over months, not days, and every child is different — we don't promise specific results. Many families check in at 3 months with the Growth Log below.
Can we take it with another multivitamin?
We don't recommend it — and that includes our own Prime Height. Folate, zinc and niacin would double up.
Where is it made?
In a cGMP facility in Hauppauge, New York, USA, from domestic and imported ingredients.
Who reviewed the formula?
Our Medical Advisor, an M.D. specializing in internal medicine and nephrology, reviewed every ingredient and amount for safety and recommends Dr's Grow UP. Our Medical Advisor is affiliated with BoneScience.
Is there anything my child should avoid with it?
See the Safety section above — especially kidney conditions, thyroid medicine, antibiotics and blood thinners.
What's your return policy?
Unopened product can be returned within 30 days.
Growing takes years.
So does the habit.
The 3-month pack is the one families choose most. Here's how they keep it going:
- Morning: 3 capsules next to the breakfast plate.
- Night: 3 tablets with the toothbrush.
- Every 3 months: write down height and weight — and see the growing years add up.
